The Library Board is the steward of library funds and services. Their focus is on long range planning, maintaining a sound fiscal structure and working within all applicable laws and regulations.

The seven member Library Board, appointed by City Council, serves as the governing body of the library. The board approves payment of bills, acts upon recommendations of the Library Administrator and handles various other business matters. Some committees of the board include finance, which prepares the annual budget and oversees funds, policy (HR and Public), which sets the basic framework for library operations; events, marketing and fundraising, and the strategic planning process committee which focuses on future development.
Library Board meetings are usually held on the second Thursday of each month, at the Novi Civic Center at 7:00pm, to review library finances, make policy decisions, and provide broad operational oversight of the library. The public is welcome. These meetings, which run approximately two hours, are broadcast live. Agendas, Minutes and Videos are listed below, as they become available.
